LSU vs. Alabama
Alabama still has hopes of winning the SEC again and earning a berth in the College Football Playoffs.
At Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday night, the Crimson Tide overcame rival LSU 42-28 to avenge their loss from the previous year and maintain their advantage in the SEC West competition.
Although it began as a shootout, the Tide eventually gained the upper hand and defeated the Tigers.
Jalen Milroe of the Crimson Tide was outstanding; he completed 20 rushes for 155 yards and completed 219 passes for 219 yards. With four rushing touchdowns, he broke the record for quarterbacks in Alabama.
For the bulk of the game, Jayden Daniels’ play was identical to his. The Heisman Trophy candidate from LSU, who went 15-for-25 passing for 219 yards and two touchdowns and added 163 yards and another touchdown on the run, had few answers early on for Alabama. However, Daniels had to leave the game in the fourth quarter after being sent into concussion protocol as a result of a hit that resulted in a roughing the passer infraction.
That eliminated any hope for an LSU comeback.
At the half, the score was deadlocked at 21 points apiece. LSU took the lead on their opening play of the second half, driving straight down the field. However, that would stop the top offense in college football from scoring.
Alabama tied the score with a touchdown in response. After Alabama’s touchdown run, LSU attempted its first punt of the game, giving Alabama a commanding advantage. Daniels intercepted a pass two plays into LSU’s subsequent possession, allowing Alabama to score two scores once more.
CBS reported that Daniels was in concussion protocol and would be out for the remainder of the game.
The following drive, Daniels was injured, and that was that.

LSU QB Jayden Daniels knocked out of the game
A 42-28 deficit in the fourth quarter is suddenly a secondary issue for LSU. Quarterback Jayden Daniels, a Heisman Trophy contender, was forced from the game after he absorbed a high hit that drew a roughing the passer penalty on Alabama’s Dallas Turner.
Daniels appeared shaken up on the play, lying on his stomach for a few moments. He was checked on by trainers and came out for Garrett Nussmeier, who completed a 5-yard pass to Brian Thomas. Daniels came back in, but then, following a false start and LSU timeout, he exited again and headed to the blue medical tent. Nussmeier came back in to replace him.
CBS reported that Daniels was in concussion protocol and would be out for the remainder of the game.
