With all of its production divided between competing streaming providers, A24 films have all but disappeared from Netflix in recent years. However, several of the A24 films that have been viewed in prior years have been added again by Netflix US throughout the last week.

The A24 movies have been added to Netflix in two batches thus far, with the first batch on October 22nd and the second on October 27th. It’s unclear whether more are on the way.

As previously indicated, A24’s extensive catalog has not been available on Netflix in recent years. Alternatively, older catalog titles are available on Max, while all new releases from the independent distributor are directed to Showtime in the first window.

So far, Netflix has included the A24 films in two batches: the first group on October 22 and the second batch on October 27. It’s uncertain if there will be more.

When we contacted Netflix to inquire about a potential new output agreement or arrangement with A24, they informed us that “no A24 output deal is in place.”

This week, Netflix UK acquired the highly regarded horror film Talk to Me, so Netflix US wasn’t the only one subjected to A24.

New A24 Movies aded to Netflix

So, what A24 movies are back on Netflix? Let’s run through them now:

The Bling Ring (2013)

Last seen on Netflix: Between January 2020 and January 2022

This film, directed by Sofia Coppola, included a strong female cast that included Emma Watson, Israel Broussard, and Katie Chang. Based on a true incident, the film centers on a group of teenagers who become well-known for carrying out high-profile thefts.

Cut Bank (2014)

Last seen on Netflix: Between December 2019 and November 2021.

The (new) Witcher himself stars in this noir thriller about a man living in a small town who spots an opportunity to make some money, but things quickly unravel after he inadvertently films a murder.

Liam Hemsworth, Teresa Palmer, and Billy Bob Thornton star.

The Kill Team (2019)

Last seen on Netflix:

For the indie film distributor, Dan Krauss directs this military drama. It concerns a young soldier coming to grips with and facing off a new sergeant who appears to be a bloodthirsty person without any morality.

Rotten Tomatoes gives the Nat Wolff and Alexander Skarsgård film a 70% rating.

Lady Bird (2017)

Last seen on Netflix: Between June 2020 and June 2022

Greta Gerwig seemingly took over the world this year with her outstanding Barbie movie, but Lady Bird is where Gerwig’s directing talent really was on full display.

Per Netflix, here’s what you can expect from the R-rated comedy-drama:

“An intrepid high schooler in Sacramento undergoes the trials of love, family and self-discovery as she dreams of escaping to college on the East Coast.”

The 2017 movie has an all-star cast, including Saoirse Ronan and Timothée Chalamet.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017)

Last seen on Netflix: Between April 2020 and April 2022

At last, Lady Bird and this thriller starring Colin Farrel and Nicole Kidman were re-added last weekend.

Yorgos Lanthimos’s two-hour film, which tells the tale of a physician who takes a young kid under his wing and watches as his life falls apart, is a wonderful addition for Halloween.

These movies are in addition to the Netflix Original A24 projects that have landed in recent years. This year, we’ve seen the release of The Deepest BreathBeef, and Survival of the Thickest.
